One of the 2 nice philosophical works of the twentieth century

The two greatest works of philosophy of the twentieth century are, I believe, Wittgenstein's PHILOSOPHICAL INVESTIGATIONS and Heidegger's BEING AND TIME. The famous distinction between Analytical or Anglo-American Philosophy on the one hand, and European or Continental Philosophy is symbolized by these 2 books. I even have to confess that I found the Wittgenstein completely fascinating, and has become one amongst the foremost vital books in my life and library. I even have studied the Heidegger, however maybe thanks to the extraordinary ethical failings in his life (he was a member of the Nazi party from 1933 to 1945, though he apparently was additional of a follower of Nazism than Hitler, his nice break with Hitler being that he saw the Jewish downside as being an intellectual downside, and not a biological one, i.e., he felt like ancient anti-Semites that Jews would like solely amendment their beliefs to be reintegrated into society, whereas Hitler felt the matter was in their blood, and also the solely answer was isolation of the Jews or their destruction), or maybe thanks to the tortured and obscure mode of writing that he felt he had to use to precise his thought, I found the Heidegger to be remote, uninteresting, and inaccessible. Ultimately, not definitely worth the effort. however BEING AND TIMES's standing as a classic is incontestable.
